The artist residency at ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art is the first such program of its kind in the Far East, as a site for concentrated artistic exchange aimed at fostering the development of the local art scene and the greater cultural landscape. The program sees its primary objective in the support of professionals in the field of contemporary art.
From December 2014, the ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art will offer artists from all over Russia and the rest of the world the chance to live and work in Vladivostok for periods of either two weeks or one month.
The ZARYA Artist-in-Residence program welcomes applications from artists working in the fields of painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, video, installation, performance, choreography, theater, music and street art. Priority is given to those projects that engage with the local context.
Participants will be provided with accommodation and a fully equipped studio at the Center for Contemporary Art and will also be fully or partially reimbursed for materials and airfare or train tickets to Vladivostok. Grants are available to qualified applicants. Each application will be considered independently, but also as potential material for upcoming exhibition projects at ZARYA CCA.
