Arts@Renaissance is an innovative 4,500 square foot arts space in the restored outpatient building of the Greenpoint Hospital that serves as a bridge between North Brooklyn's vibrant long-term communities and the area's emerging creative population through the development of new multi disciplinary work, residencies, workshops, and collaborative neighborhood art projects.

A@R is seeking three North Brooklyn community-based artists from any discipline to participate in our studio residency program.  The studio residency provides free studio space to 3 individual North Brooklyn artists from September 15, 2013- January 12, 2014. Artists are responsible for all material costs and installation. Proposals with strong artistic merit from artists with a direct and tangible connection to the North Brooklyn community are preferred.  Please note that for this program, residency applications are limited to artists who live or work in the North Brooklyn neighborhoods of Greenpoint, Williamsburg and Bushwick.

A@R provides free, 24-hour access to one of the spaces listed below, tools including a hammer drill and provides staff assistance during normal business hours, Monday- Friday. Artists are welcome to alter the space on the condition that it is returned to its original condition at the end of the residency.

As part of the residency, Arts@Renaissance helps facilitate connections between the artists and the numerous low and moderate income properties, community gardens or public spaces managed by St. Nicks Alliance. At the artist's request these facilities serve as places for them to display visual work or perform works developed during the residency. Artists-in-residence take part in the year end Arts@Renaissance showcase in December as part of our Postcards to North Brooklyn show. Artists-in-residence provide one studio visit to our senior arts program at a time of their choosing.
