We are calling for artists to create an art project from the theme "space-time" in one or two streets in Beppu. The artists shoud think their art work in collaboration with local café, shops and restaurants, etc... Besides the artists will exchange in a discussion forum with the inhabitants.

The theme: Space-Time
Far from permanently-connected centers, Beppu is a middle size city located in the North-East part of Kyushu island in Japan. In Beppu city, time seems to flow by at a different rhythm. Maybe time is influenced by the large amount of natural hot water, which characterizes the city, and that emerges massively every seconds from the ground. Beppu has lived a prosperous time with an increasing economy due to the third sector's development (Beppu is known as a spa city). Many layers of history composed the city. Old and new infrastructures overlap each other. The city is full of history, but at the same time is eager to live its present and its future.
