Lisa Kirk's Legion was originally conceived in 2006 at Sensei, on Kenmare Street in NYC.  Legion quickly grew and culminated in more then 10 exhibitions and editions over the spa of 2 years  that took place additionally at the NADA Art Fair, Andrew Kreps Gallery Scope Ny. Legion worked and helped kick off the careers of many artists including but not limited to: Alexadre Singh, Allison Smith, Peter  Coffin, Derrik Adams, Maralyn Minter, and Robert Melee. After a 5-year hiatus Lisa Kirk's Legion will be resurrected at the infamous Legion Bar in Williamsburg Brooklyn, at Humbolt and Metropolitan Avenue, one block from the Grand street station on the L train. Selected projects will be archived and presented in a self-published print magazine to be released in mid 2014. This will be an ongoing project and event series and dates will be dependant on space availability and readiness of the artists project. Conceptual strong, ambitious, culturally/socially aware, event based projects and works in progress are strongly encouraged. The venue affords much possibility in its flexibility, however very loud work can be an obstacle as tcity sound ordinances have volume limitations. Available equipment includes, video projection, lighting, dj set up and sound system, live music is also presentable.
