The Crevice Gallery, a temporary gallery-within-a-gallery, is seeking submissions of small scale works for exhibition in Provincetown, MA, USA during the Summer of 2012. The Crevice Gallery is a 14"x14"x9" (35.6cm x 35.6cm x 22.9cm) alcove within a larger gallery that focuses on experimental art of all media. It is being curated as a peice of site-specific work by an artist posing as a gallerist. All mediums and subject matters will be considered, but the work must be created at a scale appropriate for the space. The gallery is located on the main street of a beach resort town which is famous for catering to artists and the international gay community. Approximately 80,000 people walk past its doors each Summer. Works that are concept-based and/or obsessively constructed are encouraged. As is work with a "queer" focus or esthetic. Five miniature solo or group "shows" will be installed between the 3rd of July, 2012 and the 3rd of October, 2012. Applications will be accepted up until the 3rd of June, 2012, but earlier applications are encouraged. Application procedure: send a PDF document of no more than 3 pages which includes at least 3 images of your work (or sketches of the idea being proposed); a short description of what you would like to do; a short bio or links to website with your bio on it; and your contact information to thecrevicegallery@gmail.com. You may also apply through WOOLOO, but the emailed PDF application is preferred.
