After the success of the 1st competition for solo-peformance under the title “What I like about Crisis” in March 2011, Kinitiras is organizing the 2nd competition in March 2012 under the title ”What would you do if you weren't afraid?”, which is part of the program “Artists in Crisis” and Spider Artistic Project.
Kinitiras is organizing this competition in order to encourage and motivate the artistic community to keep on creating during this difficult period that Greece and Europe is going through.
The competition
This year the idea is that the performances must involve professionals from performing arts (theatre,dance,music,stand up comedy etc) who collaborate with amateurs in order to create a piece that lasts between 5'-15' minutes.
The process of the competition briefly is as follows:
1. The participants can send an e-mail at info@kinitiras.com until 26/02/12, with the cv of the professional artist or the team, the idea, links from previous works and a short document answering “Why I want to participate in the competition”
2. 6-8 duets will be chosen to perform from the 6th until the 9th of April, by a committee of 3 artists from the field of performing arts (Martha Kloukina, Aspa Tompouli, Antigone Gyra)
Winners and awards:
Two duets will win and the prizes are:
· The committee award, which will give the chance to the duet to present a full performance at Kinitiras studio during the third «In progress festival» in the summer of 2012 for three nights
· The audience award, which will be a 10% of the tickets
The winners will be promoted and advertised at domestic and foreign media.
