The Modern-Day Griot Theatre Company announces a call for women performance artists to take part in our Women’s History Month programming on March 17, 2012. We seek work which engages the idea of the "post-racial" in America. Share your performative responses to a popular question now circulating in news and social media—are we now living in a ‘post-racial’ American society? Are you a post-racial being?
Experimentation is encouraged and live action is required. Existing work can be submitted. The duration of the piece is limited to 30 minutes and can be less. This is a one-day event and stage managing/sound tech assistance will be available. Interested artists should provide the following:
-one page description of the work, duration and production elements
-links to artist website and/or other relevant sites
-up to five photos and/or links to videos of previous performance work or the piece you wish to submit
-bio
-(optional) resume or CV
Deadline for submissions is February 21, 2012. Please email submissions and any questions to zconnor@moderndaygriot.org.
