PICTURE BERLIN, founded in 2009, is a hybrid residency encouraging an active discourse in issues surrounding contemporary photography.
PICTURE BERLIN's five week Summer Session is designed for emerging artists using the medium of photography. The dynamic programming involving lectures, one on one meetings with artists and curators, studio visits, panel discussions and film screenings, uses Berlin as a springboard to examine the thriving art scene. A rigorous studio practice forms the heart of the program. The Summer Session begins and also culminates in a curated group exhibition.
