In the application we are looking for an explanation of why you would like to come to Medellín to work, what you hope to accomplish here, and how the residency will help in your work as an artist or curator. 

As a minimum, we ask that all artists give at least one public presentation about their work or the project that they develop during the residency. We encourage proposals that include workshops relevant to the local community, and we welcome other creative ideas that involve public participation.

We have many contacts in the general community, and the artistic and academic communities here in Medellín, and in other parts of Colombia that we can use to help youmake contacts and to develop his or her project.

We have exhibition spaces that normally are programmed well in advance, so if a formal exhibition is part of your plan or is a requirement for funding, we will have to program the residency to accommodate our other exhibitions and activities. An exhibition can also be accomplished via an open studio period at the end of the residency. The organization of this event can be flexible to accommodate the work and the space available.

The application form for the residency program can be completed and emailed back to us with visual support including examples of your past work. These images should be in jpg format, and should be less that 1 MG each. You can also include links to sites that show your work.

We will need to know what dates you will be available, and how long you want to stay. Normally, the residencies are from 1 – 3 months.

We need to know how you will be funding your residency.

Currently we have no endowment or grant making possibilities for the projects we accept. If you are unable to pay for the residency with your own funds, we offer logistical support and information in order to help secure funding for the artists residencies. If your proposal is accepted we can work with you in your search for support. We have contacts with foundations that offer support for artist residencies, and depending on the dates of the residency, we can try to solicit funding. Normally, there is a minimum of a 4 to 6 month waiting period for this type of support.

After we receive the proposal we will inform you if the proposal fits within the mission and criteria of the Casa Tres Patios, and if it does, we will begin to work with you to program your residency.
