After a two year vacation, Slideluck Potshow is finally returning to Sweden! That’s right, the multimedia slideshow and potluck-style dinner from New York City is returning to Delight Studios for another night of food, friends, drinks, and art. What makes this evening particularly special is that it happens to also be World Environment Day and so we will be recognizing this by focusing on the Environment as the theme of the slideshow.
Slideluck Potshow is a non-profit arts organization that builds and strengthens community through food and art in about fifty cities globally — from to Nairobi to Berlin to Mexico City. The evening begins with a couple hours of mingling, drinking Brooklyn Brewery beer, and dining on the home-cooked delights of those who attend, and then the lights are dimmed, the crowd is hushed, and a spectacular slideshow commences. Submit your artwork for SLPS Stockholm II! The theme of this show is the ENVIRONMENT and we are currently seeking cohesive, creative, and thought-provoking submissions for the slideshow. We will be looking for stories about the state of the earth, natural disasters, work that is inspired by our environment, and unexpected treatments of the issues facing our planet today. Please keep in mind that there is both a themed, and an open-themed section of this show – so not every submission must be about the environment! Photojournalists, painters, fashion and fine-art photographers all present work alongside one another in a relaxed and spirited atmosphere. The deadline for submissions is Monday, May 17th. This show will feature a mixture Swedish and international artists. Presenters range from the very accomplished to the up and coming, and everyone has a maximum of 5 minutes. Past contributors to Slideluck Potshows include: The Guggenheim Foundation, Chuck Close, Elliott Erwitt, Gregory Crewdson, Todd Hido, Elinor Carucci, Alec Soth, Spencer Tunick, Shepard Fairey, Martin Parr, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Vincent Laforet and many others.
So get those submissions in by May 17th, then whip up your famous banana bread, spaghetti bolognese, green papaya salad, rosemary ham, or raspberry cheesecake and come check out a slammin’ slideshow!
