Climate Justice Fast! is an international hunger strike.

Climate Justice Fast! is an international hunger strike taking place from the 6th of November to the end of the Climate Conference on the 18th of December.


Activists from Bangladesh to Mexico are eating no food and will drink only water to call for strong and just action on the climate crisis.


Four of the fasting activists and a medical assistant are staying with a NEW LIFE COPENHAGEN family in the North of Copenhagen.


On December 7th - the first day of the Climate Conference and one month after the fast began - the hosting family will fast for 24 hours in sympathy for the activists and we invite all of our participants to do the same.

IMPORTANT!


PREPERATION AND INFO IF YOU CHOOSE TO FASTE ON MONDAY:


Preprerations 2 days before:


Stop taking stimulants as coffee, cola, black tea, sugar, alcohol, drugs etc. For most people this would mean symtoms like head aches, bad stomach etc. This is OK and will pass.


Eat or stop eating very proteinfilling things like meat, fish, cheese, tofu, beans - so that your body, blood sugar and soul is getting ready for lighter food.


The day before and after the faste:


Eat only light things like vegtables and friut, and maybe alos cooked rice or pasta. Go to bed early to rest your body.


On the fasting day:


DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!. It is individually how much, but drink a little during the whole day in stead of in large portions.


You can feel uncomfortable, which is reactions on your low blood sugar: feeling tired, head ache, bad mood, nausea and dizziness. Drinking a bit of vegtablejuice helps against this.


Put on extra clothes to keep warm, especially here in the wintertime. And especially foreign guest that are not used to the climate in Denmark.


Don't faste without guidance, if you are on medication or are sick.
