She was born, I was already 12 years old with a camera and a burgeoning desire to stage my own photo shoots. This muse entered my life, at first passive, unassuming; then, participating, opinionated, a contributing creator. Later she would claim I turned her into my puppet, only agreeing to pose half-heartedly for quickie snapshots. I work mostly in photography, but also in video, installation and painting. I am interested in exploring how the urban environment and landscape we live in, namely the New York City public sphere, influences us as individuals. My basic aim is to plant a seed, a question, within the viewer’s psyche; if successful, it might awaken dormant emotions and inspire new sensitivity, sensibility and insight.
