I am an Irish artist, graduating from NCAD in 2005 with a joint degree in Textiles and History of Art.  I work in multimedia, using mixed materials in my paintings, as well as working in digital photography, video art, and works on paper. I have exhibited work extensively in Ireland as well as in Germany, Canada and the US, and my work is held in both corporate and private collections. I have completed residencies in the renowned Vermont Studio Centre, USA as well as NES residency, Iceland, and Artscape, Toronto, Canada. I have received awards from both the Irish Arts Council and the Royal Dublin Society.  I am currently the permanent artist-in-residence in the Castlecomer Estate Yard, Co. Kilkenny. Life evolves in a layered way. Tissue thin sheets of memory, occurrences, personal, public, or historical events, popular culture, nostalgia, failure, disappointments, future plans, hopes, intentions. Each moment in time is like no other, a mixing of the past, present and of what may yet occur. Innocence and sinister intent lie together, infecting each other. Ghosts of fables and childhood tales, fears, and premonitions coexist, bleeding into each other. There are physical manifestations, once glorious, now faded. Phantom memories of myths and legend, hearsay, and regaled stories appear and disappear. My works are a juxtaposition of unique circumstances and events, tied together and paused, before they begin to morph, and time continues to roll slowly forward again.

My work is heavily influenced by my experiences of Synaesthesia, how memory is recorded within the brain and the interpretation of human consciousness. Through mixed media, painting, drawing, photography, and video installation I describe places which are specific but subjective, snapshots of places in time that shift and change continually.
