Nathaniel Hester's (b. 1976; Durham, NC) abstract oil paintings, prints, and stop-motion charcoal animations investigate the incongrous harmonies of the American landscape. This project, in particular, borrows its' title from a United States road atlas, which places the state of Oklahoma along the centerfold. The project is an erotic inquiry into what we keep folded at the center of our selves. |
