Katya Grokhovsky was born in Odessa, Soviet Ukraine and came to Melbourne, Australia in 1992 with her family. The highlights of her education include a Children's Diploma of Fine Arts from Odessa Art School, (Ukraine), an Honours degree in Fashion Design, (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia) a Postgrad.Dip. in Fashion from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, (London, UK).Katya is a recent graduate of her second degree, BFA (painting),Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia. She is a recipient of numerous awards, one of which is a prestigious Freedman Traveling Scholarship for Emerging Artists, 2007,(NAVA, Sydney, Australia) In 2008 Katya travels to various destinations, including USA, Holland, Germany, Italy and France in order to take part in various workshops, an internship, festivals and residencies.In 2009, Katya commenced her MFA in Sculpture at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA, where she currently resides.
