New York based , internationally recognized multidisciplinary, New Genres Australian/Ukrainian artist Katya Grokhovsky works across mediums including performance, video, installation, photography, sculpture, drawing and text. She has an MFA in Sculpture (2011) from the prestigious world recognized School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA and a BFA in Painting (2007) from premier Australian Art School, Victorian College of the Arts, Australia as well as a BA in Fashion (2000) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Grokhovsky's work has been widely exhibited in Australia, USA and Europe. She has traveled extensively, partaking in residencies and performance art events and received various awards and scholarships, such as Graduate International Scholarship, Freedman Traveling Scholarship for Artists (Australia) and Maude Glover Fleay Award (Australia), Maude Glover Fleay Award (Australia). In 2011 Grokhovsky was an artist in residence at Robert Wilson' s Watermill Center, Long Island, New York, where she was commissioned to create a major installation/performance project for the annual benefit and Open House. In 2012, Grokhovsky’s Projects include The Art School - an Innovative Educational Project - Residency in Queens, NY, awarded by chashama, space to create, a “Wonderwomen” residency in _gaia studio in Jersey City, a residency at Santa Fe Art Institute, New Mexico, a residency at Chashama North, Upstate New York and numerous group and solo exhibitions as well as performances in various venues, including Art Fairs, non-profit, university and commercial gallery spaces in USA and Australia.
