My work is centred on drawing, I make two dimensional work from materials carrying an implied meaning connected with prior usage, idealized proposals or specific intended use.

Theories of Fiction and Non Fiction influence my theoretical approach, I acknowledge specific cultural identities but I consider history as another type of fiction which depends on presentation methods to engender validation. The human self has no history but the subjective self constantly reviews an historical perspective.

Fiction and Non Fiction, High Art and Low Art are cyclic tensions emerging from devices employed to authenticate history, I introduce Low Art elements as a device contrasting the intangibility of High Art - particularly Oil Painting which I consider to be a legacy of a Golden Age, a super real glamour developed after the renaissence as a dynamic representation of reality, craft materials, low art as archaic remnants of an industrialized agrinomical society is where the "reality" of non fiction lies me.

The incorporation of gesso, craft materials, embroidery, string and plastics interferes with the notion of deceiving the eye through painted naturalism. The immediate subject matter severs any assumed functions.
