The processes of becoming, reinvention and rebirth constitute the core of my painting.   I am deeply attracted to the intense beauty emanating from the vital forces in nature and the human experience with its continual evolving and transformative manifestations, and am particularly moved by the shape-shifting power of iconic images and ideas from the religious to the profane, and how their influence is imprinted in the human body, mind and spirit.  Focusing on painting as well as multimedia installations, I embrace in my work the unique opportunity to be a part of this metamorphosis and express my dream of life through my love of color, texture and visual story-telling.  In the act of making art, I give birth to myself, as a shape-shifter, a border-crosser, painting my inner world and vowing to imprint my will in unconventional and unrestricted ways.
