Killing Time
Since 1949 when China invaded Tibet, the majority of monasteries were destroyed, & tens of thousands of monks & nuns were imprisoned, tortured & killed by the Chinese government in an effort to eradicate Buddhism from Tibet.Despite these efforts, the Tibetans have rebuilt thousands of monasteries, & Buddhist practice has accelerated across Tibet. Also, because many monks & nuns were forced to flee Tibet, these learned teachers have found many new students around the world, especially in the West, but also in China, & many have travelled to Tibet to study & practice.
