Community Murals

These days it seems that almost all of our public space is dominated by commercial advertising. Community murals resist this trend by empowering young people and other community members to work together to express their common concerns, rooted in shared values. In 1998 I painted my first community mural with kindergarteners in a small mountain village in Mexico. In the decade since then I have enjoyed facilitating many other community murals in various locations. Here are a few of them.
