Video stills
States of mental and emotional imbalance, the struggle through the flux of live thrives and influences my research. The lens is mainly static, frontal, mirror-like, close to the performing body; only in the video trilogy 'Walking', a woman walks away from the capturing eye, vanishes into vast landscapes or hallway. Here, the individual is being surpassed by space and time. Working on my own allows me to create most intimate situations, to explore and expose fragility that lies in human mind, in the human condition. From early paintings on to recent photographs or monotypes, I have always used my body as model; I am also the sole performer in the videos. Nonetheless, once this level of intimacy has been achieved, I highly appreciate collaboration. This may be in the creation of sound or within intellectual exchange with artists and scientists.
