Journey into Fragility

Journey into Fragility is a new itinerary project inspired by the Arenzano Manifesto for Earth and the Human Being, conceived and created by Massimo Morasso in Italy in 2001. The Manifesto is composed by twelve statements to constructively reset the issues of the environmental crisis, and it was subscribed to by the world's most famous poets (from Derek Walcott to Seamus Heaney and Adonis; from Bei Dao to Mario Luzi; from Yves Bonnefoy to Andrea Zanzotto and John Ashbery, just to name a few). The project will take inspiration from the Arenzano Manifesto to develop 12 different projects (community projects, installations, videos, and site specific projects) in 12 different places around the world, with the intention of developing an open and constructive dialogue on the environment and the value of living on Earth. Each project will involve a scientific partner and a different curator, with the intent to produce a constructive project, able to bring new technologies and solutions for the health and benefit of the Earth, both in wealthy and poor countries. Each project will be inspired by one of the twelve statements of the Manifesto, and workshops, discussions, conferences and debates will be created around each topic.
