AYBABTU

A solo exhibition at Factory 49, Marrickville (Sydney Australia) in September 2008. AYBABTU   In a zero sum universe, everything is black and white. The aim of the game is win or lose and any gain assumes a corresponding erosion of the opposite side. This work has been conceived as a transmission from an imaginary signal-post at the zero sum front.   The galloping triplets which form the basis of Morse Code do not reduce easily to a binary system, but here the dits and dahs of Morse have been translated into an optical key of vertical and horizontal line.   The message is an acronym, itself a mis-translation, which has taken on its own global status in folk legend:   <All Your Base Are Belong To Us>   Janet Ollevou September 2008       :FACTORY 49: Director: Pam Aitken  BVA(HONS)MVA 49 Shepherd St, Marrickville 2204  Thurs - Sat 1.00 - 6.00pm   (+61) 2 9572 9863 factory49@optusnet.com.au
