POSTCARDS FROM GEORGIA

I made this small series of water colours in the summer of 2008, during the Russian invasion of Georgia. We were on holiday in Cornwall at the time. The paintings were a reaction to the contrast between our pleasant surroundings and the images of shock and distress which arrived with the news everymorning.
