LAND:ESCAPISM
A selection of landscape photographs taken between 2002 and 2007 through bouts of escapism and travel in 8 different countries. They represent a dreamy quest for peace, purity, solitude and beauty to contrast with the tensions, passions, and tolls of living in a magical yet cursed country (Lebanon).
Date: March 2008
Place: Archiade Showroom, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. |

and design, live trash music and installations by local artists.

Conception, recording, and design of a quadraphonic soundtrack for the installation. It represents a city night in Beirut with focus on subtle layering, diversity, memory, fragments and hints of the personal mixed with a more generic urban soundscape. |

Filmed and edited footage of the installation and it's scaled-down street and building models, objects and visuals, with footage of real-life Beirut night scenes and people, sometimes blurring the line between installation and reality...

"During the workshop Christophe decided to focus on the subject of exodus, exile, migration and return. These words have long been a part of Lebanese history and experience. Since the July war, and due to the political and economic deadlock, there's a new wave of departures from the country. Lebanon's international airport finds itself a silent witness of the country's future.
