This square is an important point of people traffic downtown. For this reason, lots of ambulants, street salesman, place their merchants there. One of the most well known is a guy who sells a product that cleans the stone (called portuguese stone) thet covers all sidewalks in rio by making it white. This product, with the help of stencils, was used to clean the floor of the square in specific areas, writing the word "LEMBRA" (remember). As the process of acommodation of durt began, the word started to disappear. The hole process was documented with photography. |
