As appearance designates its role further in technologies advances of day-to-day living this exhibit aims to utilize the frozen time scale of the discontinuous moment into a state of illusion. Real landscapes transform into the elusive confirmation of a fictional narrative the margins between fake and authentic transform. Illusion no longer an opposing force to the banality proposed by the familiar landscapes of the real but a convergent force into our state of momentary escape.

The central themes of these images are based around notions of the everyman and the quest for authenticity through experience. Central to this quest is the use of representation as a tool for understanding with a play on the qualities of low-tech devices in a high-tech world alongside interior and exterior points of reference. The beauty of the real is constructed from a view that suggests unreal dimensions to question ideas around fake authenticity. The intention is to contrast the sublime with the absurd to reach an optimistic standpoint towards the human condition.
