Experience, and the memory of it, is becoming increasingly externalized. The cycle of experience, retention, and reflection is packed and parceled for parts known well enough. It’s rapidly transported into peripheral vessels: the SS Cardioid, the HMS Handycam, Starship Blackberry. It is tagged and it is labeled, indexed and sorted, the exactitude of a straight razor. The automata take care of the bits that our minds need no longer hold so tightly onto. And it’s only in some cases that the execution of the toggle, the push of the button still predicates the externalization of memory into our little apparatuses. As the mind is relieved of the agency of remembering, we’re becoming increasingly unable to forget. |

Being a multi-format film about fragmented identity in the digital era.
Rotoscoping, Live-Action Footage, and Machinima come together in this 30 min. short, telling the story of an individual whose reality becomes heavily jilted and confused, as he passes from what is ostensibly reality, dream, and virtual reality almost seamlessly, a different avatar or identity in each realm. |

What form does art take in the virtual world, then? And how does it take advantage of this ad hoc, experimental realm of expression? A blended reality event is predicated on the fusion of reality and virtual reality. While the exhibition receives its corporeal audience, avatars from around the world file (and fly) into the virtual shard of the show. Video of the physical event will be streamed into the virtual event, and vice versa. All that separates the two spaces is an increasingly thin screen... |
