This series visually developed from a few self portraits I had done and thematically developed from personal events that kept interrupting my ability to continue my work on other projects.

The Home series explores the notion of "home" as a particular place filled with particular objects and how these physical elements intertwine with a distinct, yet intangible, feeling of the place. The duality of "home" as concrete objects and abstract feelings is expressed in the formal aspects of the series as the boundaries of painting and drawing are blurred: an illustrative line traces individual shapes while brushed inks push and pull space in more naturalistic way. This visually mimics how an amalgamation of objects, various in size and importance, can create a strong abstract emotion, such as the sentiment of home.
