Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada - then migrating to British Columbia shortly after - Jason began his journey in photography. The early days involved an old Kodak Instamatic camera handed down as a birthday gift at age seven. Burning through endless rolls of film and experimenting he found his focus in action sports - documenting skateboard sessions, ski and snowboard trips, and mountain bike rides - not only documenting the action, but the people and environments involved. To aid in improving his skills and learning the business side of the industry, Jason took formal training in a post secondary photography program. Following that he spent four years working in a studio where he became one of the senior photographers in the company. Today, Jason runs his own freelance business supplying clients with high quality images to fulfill their editorial and commercial needs. Recently in the Southern Hemisphere, Jason was chasing the Maxi Yachts of International Sailing. When not on the water he can be found exploring and documenting the countries he's visiting.
