JANNICKE WIIG was raised on the North Shore and lives in Lynn Valley in North Vancouver, B.C. She is a graduate of West Vancouver Highschool and a graduate of the design program at Langara College. Jannicke creates paintings that are focused on texture and colour. She uses acrylic paint and heavy gels to create texture and depth. Jannicke's paintings blur the boundaries between representational landscapes and abstraction. They merge together and create a contemporary feel. "It is about texture and color and the emotions that they create." She is also an interior designer (her company is DIG DESIGN) and has created several custom paintings to compliment her clients interiors.
