Andrea Polli <www.andreapolli.com> is an artist, Associate Professor in Art and Ecology, and Mesa Del Sol Chair of Digital Media at The University of New Mexico. Polli's work with science, technology and media has been presented widely in venues including the Whitney Museum’s Artport and The Field Museum of Natural History. Her work has been reviewed by the LA Times, Art in America, Art News and others. In 2007/2008, she spent seven weeks in Antarctica on a National Science Foundation funded residency. <www.90degreessouth.org>
She currently works in collaboration with scientists to develop systems for understanding climate. Projects include: a spatialized sonification of highly detailed models of storms; a series of sonifications of future climate; and a real-time multi-channel sonification and visualization of weather in the Arctic.
