About
Goodman was raised in an old barn outside Philadelphia, where she spent her days in solitude, wandering the city streets and nearby forest. Desire to learn metallurgy led her to the French Alps, where she apprenticed an ironworker fabricating castle keys and ornate metal settings for traditionally carved wood store signs. Upon returning, she accepted a job as a welder at a bronze foundry, spending several years executing bronze sculptures for the public arena. After this time, Goodman set out to travel the world, earning her keep doing manual labor until she reached New York City.
Goodman creates sculptures, paintings, and mixed media installations to share her experiences. Her work was recently featured on the cover of Studio Visit Magazine. She was represented in New American Paintings, and will be promoted in their upcoming 15th Anniversary edition. She received mention in the New York Times review of Bird Flew, curated by Robert Storr. Goodman is a current resident of the Chashama Studio Residency Program in NYC.
