JEFFREY B. CHILDS  A.O.C.A.D.          BRIEF BIOGRAPHY                                                                                                                                                                  I studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Music and am an associate of the Ontario College of Art after winning a scholarship for a fifth year of study in sculpture. My education has resulted in a thirty year eclectic regional , national and international career including Canada Council grants for my role as Co-founder/Director of the celebrated Millennium Project as well as numerous Ontario and Canada Council Grants for various other projects. In addition to many solo and group exhibitions I have won several commissions for my work including the MacDonald Cartier(OHIP) buildings “Tip Of The Iceberg” and Torontos’ Mount Pleasant Cemetery Ewart Chapel piece “Eternal Life Cycles” .I also have a large outdoor work in steel as part of the collection of St.Lawrence College. It is located on the Kingston Campus.In 2009 I orginized,curated,and participated in an international digital art exchange show between Canada and Cuba titled R'evolution and have work hanging in the Cuban Embassy in Canada. I have  shown site specific work extensively including combining original music with my intuitive art in interactive multi-media environmental installations since 1982. I am  a founding member of the Kingston Artist Association (Modern Fuel Gallery).My  work is included in the archives of the National Gallery of Canada as well as several public and private collections.  I can be contacted at jeffreybmx5@msn.com
